What's Inside Our Puffed Ancient Grains Snack!
These super snacks made of gluten free puffed ancient grains are a reminder of the nutritional wisdom that ancient cultures had. Amaranth was a staple food in the diet as well an in their worship of the Mesoamerican cultures mainly the Mayans and Aztecs used since 6000 to 8000 years ago. They built statues made with Amaranth and honey and they would use it in their ceremonies and eat them. Quinoa with its majestic history was used since more than 5000 years ago, considered a sacred crop to the Incas in the mountains of Peru, Bolivia and Chile in the Andean culture they called it Chisaya mama, the mother of all grains. Some theories say that both amaranth and Quinoa where banned and prohibited when the Spanish conquered what is now Latin America. But they did not disappear totally, and they were rediscovered in the 1970s, and they are now considered the crops of the future. Millet was domesticated thousands of years ago in south and east Asia as well as East and West Africa.
Now they all have incredible discovered attributes and they are called ancient grains and superfoods and an essential part of our snacks.
