Our Story

Paktli means Joy in Nahuatl the language of the Aztecs, inspired by the Mexican alegrias that also means Joy in Spanish, a snack dating to the 16th century made with puffed amaranth, honey or chocolate. Paktli is my version of the ancient Mexican alegrias made with puffed amaranth, quinoa and millet with organic chocolates and dried fruits and nuts.

When I came to the US, I found that very few knew about Alegrias and Mexican sweets where artificial and stereotypical. I wanted to recreate my childhood snack in a gourmet, authentic product honoring my heritage.

Introducing Paktli

A brand crafted for those who crave healthy and delicious snacks, that pays respect and homage to Alegrias. Paktli is built for the culturally curious, who seek healthy versions of authentic ethnic foods. Our vibrant packaging is inspired by Oaxacan textiles.  Paktli isn’t just a snack—it’s a connection to tradition, a taste of joy.

Paktli’s Alegria bites have a 12-month shelf life and are organic, kosher, and gluten-free, with vegan and soy free options, catering to the growing demand for cleaner snacks. As a certified women-owned and minority business, Paktli champions diversity, wellness, and cultural heritage.

I launched Paktli in 2020, growing strategically through farmer's markets, and independent retailers. I grew to handmaking with a team of 7 Latina women. In 2024, the company shifted to bite-sized alegrias based on consumer feedback, preparing for larger retail. With new proprietary manufacturing equipment, we’re now set to scale production, accelerating growth to meet demand from culturally curious markets.
